On my 'to do' list.

These are 'Cake Pops' from the Bakerella website. I have been looking for an excuse to make these for a while, but decided that I'm going to make them just for something to do over the uni holidays. They are the coolest idea! And the website has a lot of other yummy looking stuff too - I made some chocolate mascarpone brownies a few months ago.

Red velvet cake pops.
Pika! I love these too, but I will stick to the cake pops :)

Unchewed, thanks.

Do you ever see things and think 'God, I wish I thought of that!' Well I do and this is one of those things. I found these on The Design Files blog - which is full of awesome stuff. These penlid necklaces are handmade by Melbourne jewellery label Chewed By Tuesday. They're sterling silver and you get to choose if you want your penlid chewed or unchewed...and they cost about 500 times more than the a blue plastic pen lid. These are sooo much cooler though ;)

Textile Love

I have a bit of an obsession / infatuation with really cool textiles...amongst other things. Ink & Spindle is a boutique screen printing studio in Melbourne that makes some awesome ones...I need to find an excuse to buy some. I'm also really keen to get some screen printing equipment to give it a go myself! If my family bothers to read my blog, they won't need to ask what I want when my birthday comes around. hint hint.

CB2. Very cool online store.

If my bank balance allowed, I probably would have already ordered half of the stuff on this online store.  There's some amazing stuff and it's all well priced. One of it's partner companies is The Land of Nod - which I thought was cool, becuase the guy who designed the Nod logo - Michael Malbry - spoke at the agIdeas conference.

I need to own one of these Bauhaus arc floor lamps one day! Don't know if it mine will be green....but this one is only $199.00!

This dinnerware is very similar to what I bought at Target recently - on sale for like 80c a piece! But my plates are round, and the bowls, small plates and dinner plates are different colours. Best bargain.

The Ampersand

For those who know what paper lanterns are but thought I had used an imaginary word for the other half of the blog title.

Periodic Table of Typefaces

Found this ages ago - I want one! Only available in black and red in the etsy shop at the moment - it's just not quite the same. I love the gold and black.

The Boathouse Floating Restaurant

This is where we are having the wedding reception. It has really nice views of the river, a little balcony (it might be a bit cold for that on July 1), a very cool bar and little brass features leading to, and in parts of, the room - Brad was the one to notice them and was quite impressed. Our family went to lunch here a few years ago and I really liked it, so I'm pleased we are having our reception here.

A few semi-wedding related things to start off with.

Only because I have quite a lot of cool wedding-y things saved on my computer at the moment....
1. I love round white paper lanterns.

I know the third ones aren't round ;) I won't be able to say where the photos from my first few posts come from, as I have had them saved for quite a while. In any posts that include things I find from now on, I will definitely credit where I found them! These ones have come from various wedding blogs that I check out every now and then.

Insanely cool boleros.

I found these boleros on etsy the other day - I think I followed a link from somewhere else to end up at the bonzie store. A lot of them are Victorian inspired, and I love the structural quality of them - very cool. I'm thinking I might need a bolero for the wedding reception, but one with longer sleeves might be a bit more practical! This is the link to the store: www.etsy.com/shop/bonzie

P.S. I'm still learning the whole blogging thing, so that's my excuse if my posts don't look very good to start with.
